Here are the couple of Bollywood (Hindi) movies releasing this week – 18th September 2009. Just thought to give a snapshot of the new movies.
Movie: “Wanted” releasing on 18th September 2009
Director: Prabhu Deva
Star Cast: Salman Khan, Ayesha Takia
The name “Wanted” itself signifies that the movie would be an action-packed entertainer with a flavor of crime, terrorism, and underworld. (How far it entertains the audience is a different question though!). In the literal sense, “Most Wanted” has connotations to crime, so presumably, this movie too would have a semblance to it. The movie is a remake of Telugu hit “Pokiri“.
In the movie, the character of Radhe played by Salman Khan, is a very big gangster who knows no fear and works for Gani Bhai. His aim is to destroy the rival gang of Gani Bhai and accomplishes this with great felicity and in the bargain ends up developing more and more enemies for him. In the middle of all this roller-coaster action, Jhanvi played by Ayesha Takia develops liking for him. Well, what happens after that, the audience needs to check out for themselves!
One could say that this is yet another movie on the lines of gang rivalry and gang war and close to the likes of Satya and Company, which were directed by Ram Gopal Verma. In this movie too, every gang tries to grab a share of the underworld and in turn the city of Mumbai and rule it! And as Radhe tries his bit, he ends up being most ‘Wanted’!
This movie would bring for the first time Salman Khan and Ayesha Takia together as a pair and this would be the first movie Ayesha Takia after she married! Also, this would be Prabhu Deva’s Bollywood directorial debut and even Salman Khan would be seen after quite some time.
So, it is left to the audience whether they give thumbs up to Wanted and turn it into a super hit and run it on the lines of Kaminey which turned out to be a hit at the box!

Movie: Dil Bole Hadippa! releasing on 18th September 2009
Star Cast: Shahid Kapur, Rani Mukherji,
Directed by Anurag Singh, “Dil Bole Hadippa” would be yet another movie under the Yash Raj Films banner. Rani Mukerji will be seen sizzling the silver screen after a long time. After a huge flop “Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic” which released in 2008, Rani Mukherji will be seen in this movie with a completely different look as a male Sardar and also as a sexy looking village girl who has the ability and the vision to dream “Big”. After a super-duper hit movie “Kaminey” that released just a few weeks back, Shahid Kapur would be making an appearance in yet another movie “Dil Bole Hadippa!” and join the league of Yash Raj Films.
The movie talks about Veera (Rani Mukherji) who hails from a small village in Punjab but has an ambition of playing cricket at a national or even international level. As the dwellers of the village are conservative and orthodox about giving freedom to girls in terms of fulfilling their dreams, Rani decides to overcome this hurdle by dressing like a man and does very well in the game.
Rohan (Shahid Kapur) is an established captain of a regional cricket team in England and returns to India to head his father’s cricket team which is in a crisis situation. Rani manages to be part of Rohan’s team and manages to bring the team together with her determination and talent.
The movie is a romantic comedy movie and this is the first time Rani and Shahid are seen together in a movie. Together, they form are a very young and energetic couple and also share great chemistry on screen. The songs of the movie are peppy and feet tapping with a ‘Punjabi tadka’ in it.
