Education is referred to as the process of teaching or learning of skills and knowledge. Its main objective is to use the learned information in the most effective ways and to perform a task more efficiently. Education goes beyond the four walls of a classroom. Fundamentally, a child is educated and prepared for the society, in terms of morality, such as honesty, loyalty, etc. Additionally, an individual gains education through his personal experiences with the world outside.
Education is classified into three types, each has its respective advantages and disadvantages. The types of education are:
- Formal Education, which is usually taken place on the premises of a school, where basic, academic, and trade skills are taught. It begins at the elementary level through secondary level of schooling and then continues to post-secondary education at a college or university.
- Informal Education, which refers to learning about day-to-day activities. It is a life-long process learned naturally. for instance, learning your mother tongue or parents teaching their child how to brush their teeth.
- Non-formal Education, which involves flexible learning of professional skills or job skills. Home education, distance learning, computer-assisted instruction, all fall under non-formal education system. Painting, for instance, fall under this category of education.
Self-development through the process of education has become more exciting, as the current education systems started adopting alternative methods of teaching that involve fun-filled activities, healthy competition, rewards and perks, visual media, use of internal and technology, which are helping is delivering education in the most effective form.
I began to think about the far-reaching implications of mathematics and a topic such as Permutation and probability on life.
