Cauliflower causes no High Bone Fever – AIIMS

We are all aware that each vegetable has its own nutritional value and all are equally important for a normal, healthy and a properly functioning body. Cauliflower is one such vegetable whose nutritional value cannot be ignored.

High Bone Fever caused by Cauliflower - A FALSE RUMOR!
High Bone Fever caused by Cauliflower - A FALSE RUMOR!

If you ask a doctor or a nutrition expert he will tell you that a 100gm raw cauliflower can give you essential nutrients like carbohydrate, protein, calcium, iron, phosphorus and others. Cauliflower is said to contain selenium and vitamin C which helps in strengthening the immune system. People suffering from arthritis, asthma and high blood pressure problems are also recommended to have Cauliflower to improve their health. Wondering why I’m giving so much of ‘’Cauliflower gyan’’?

Never before did Cauliflower grab our attention so much as it did in the past few days! An SMS about it made it the talk of the talk of the town for quiet some time now. Recently there was an SMS circulated which stated that the consumption of this particular vegetable may cause a rare disease known as High Bone Fever [HBF]. No one knew of this before nor did any one hear of such a thing. It was said that this message is being spread by the doctors of AIIMS, Delhi. But soon we were relieved by the AIIMS doctors themselves that there’s no such disease as High Bone Fever known to the medical science and that a false rumor was being spread.

Earlier too 7Up Nimbooz, a product of Pepsico was called the cause of HBF. Even at that time it was the AIIMS doctors got us out from the ignorance and proved it wrong. I wonder what kind of sadistic pleasure people get by spreading such evidence less information. Whoever it is he must realize that by creating such fears in people’s minds they are putting the health of general public at risk!
