With the qualifying rounds in the champions trophy out of the way, the real entertainment gets underway from Sunday when India take on England.
The match would be one sought after event and one could expect the match to be a ‘traffic stopper’. The timely scheduling of the match would certainly draw the crowd and glue the fans to their television sets.
The Indian team with its roller coaster performance in the recently held DLF cup would be looking to prove a point to its fans. The contest being a knock out from now on, the teams would have to be at their best to ensure that they end up in the finals.
The England team with a fine blend of youth and seasoned players like Trescothick, Freddie and Strauss would also be one force to reckon.
The Indian challenge would be lead by the captain Dravid, Tendulkar and their likes. A few payers to watch out for would be Sehwag, Yuvraj, Kaif, Dhoni and Munaf Patel. These players have the ability and this tournament would provide a platform for them to showcase their form and potential.
In the bowling department both the teams have their share of worries but the Indians would ride the advantage with the likes of Harbhajan in the spin department and Munaf Patel with some pace.
The England team’s seamers would be gunning the corridor outside the off stump of the Indian batsment which could bring their downfall. All said, victory would go to the most persevering team which holds its nerves till the end.
An evenly poised contest, it would go down the wire for sure..!
