Wow, Google just introduced the new experimental feature called the +1 button which will be another major move to improve Google’s search experience.
The first thought that came to my mind is – the +1 button concept is almost similar to Facebook’s Recommendation button – Got it? Yeh these both are socially connected but the major difference between both is Google’s +1 button is connected to Google’s search engine where is Facebook recommendation is not.
You can find this +1 button in Google search results – wait you can’t see it right away, as it is an experimental feature you need to go to Google’s latest ideas ‘Experimental Search’ page and then you need to click on “Join this experiment” in +1 button section.
Clicking on +1 publicly is something like a public approval stamp of a particular site you recommend, so friends, contacts, and others can find the best stuff when they search. Get recommendations for the things that interest you, right when you want them, in your search results.
Indirectly Google is also powering their Google’s profile page because the first thing to enable this +1 experimental feature is you should need a public profile like mine, which helps people or your friends see who recommended that tasty recipe or great campsite.
When you create a profile, it’s visible to anyone, and connections with your email address can easily find it. Your +1’s are stored in a new tab on your Google profile. You can show your +1’s tab to the world, or keep it private and just use it to personally manage the ever-expanding record of things you love around the web. And another best feature is you can manage/administrate all your +1’s.
Wanna check who can see your +1’s when you make the tab private? You can check your Social Connections status by following this link.
Sometimes it’s easier to find exactly what you’re looking for when someone you know already found it. Get recommendations for the things that interest you, right when you want them, in your search results. You can even use it as a bookmark for future reference, so the question is Google gonna shut down Google’s bookmark?
Want know more in fewer time :), just watch this “Introducing the +1 Button” video from Google:
Wow as per the video, you can even embed Google’s +1 button in your own website! So another bookmarking button gonna come soon on the website? or will the button get merged with the Google Buzz thing? Hmm, have to wait and see.
Wanna read more? no issues follow this link +1’s: About the +1 button.
Are you a site owner? and looking to embed the +1 button on all pages of your site? Just follow this link to know more before you go ahead with this.
So what’s your opinion friends? do we really need this +1 recommendation button after Google Buzz?
I feel Google Buzz is nowhere related to the +1 button as this gonna change your search engine experience. What do you say?
