Recently, Gul Panag was in chandigarh to promote her film “Straight” and the newly opened FAME multiplex.
Five years in the industry and an equal count of films to her credit, but that doesn’t deviate Gul Panag from her priority. She spells it for us, “I have always aspired to do different roles.” Here she gets a little more serious about the topic and adds, “I want to leave my footprints in the history of cinema and wish to be remembered as a credible actor.”
Vying to be known as a part of the path-breaking cinema, Gul perhaps knows how to do it best. “I am committed to an acting career and would want to do only meaningful roles. Mere dancing and singing around trees don’t satisfy me,” says Gul who was in town to promote her film and the newly opened multiplex, FAME.
Gulpanag said, “Straight!!” is a funny tale about Pinu, who struggles with himself, his fears, and his complexes, to “come out” as straight and find himself a love story. I am doing one more film with Parvati. It was a great experience working with her and Vinay.
On this prestigious occasion, Mr. Shravan Shroff MD of Fame cinemas said, “We at FAME believe that the movie viewing experience at a multiplex should be no less than exhilarating. We are proud to offer the movie lovers of Panchkula the Fame experience. With the launch of Fame Panchkula we take yet another step forward in our journey towards spreading the FAME brand across the country.
The people of this city are known for their penchant for luxury and their affinity to style along with comfort. I can assure you that at Fame Panchkula we will go all out to provide our patrons the best possible experience. We will also keep this venue buzzing with premieres and other exciting opportunities to meet movie stars.”
The story is in the midst of central London, a successful Indian restaurant called “Gaylord” is run by a Londoner of Indian origin called Pinu. A simple soul at heart, Pinu has many complexes, a special one being that he is a virgin and has experienced no intimacy with a woman.
To top that, his biggest fear is to be laughed at by people, an ever-repeating phenomenon with him. Pinu is quite an introvert and has no real friends, the closest he has ever gotten to a friendship is with his foster brother rajat, who is quite a contrast to his own personality A casual air about him, he is the lead singer of a rock band. Rajat is very fond of pinu, though is often a source of annoyance to him as he finds pinu really funny.
