As much as we like to read saucy news in tabloids, we do in our hearts believe in true love and value the sanctity of marriage. In Hollywood land where marriages can last only 72 days, there’s a need for role models, and Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are going in the right direction, despite Jada’s statement being misinterpreted as they are in an ‘open relationship.’
What caused this confusion was her comment during an interview with HuffPost Live regarding rumors that she and the Men in Black star have an open marriage. “I’ve always told Will, ‘You can do whatever you want as long as you can look at yourself in the mirror and be OK,'” the star told HuffPost Live.
“Because at the end of the day, Will is his own man. I’m here as his partner, but he is his own man. He has to decide who he wants to be, and that’s not for me to do for him. Or vice versa.” This statement was misinterpreted and caused a lot of media frenzy around their marriage.
Jada Pinkett On Will Smith Open Relationship Rumor ‘Will Is His Own Man’:
But Jada took to Facebook to clear things out in a long post explaining what she meant. And she simply stated that ‘Here is how I will change my statement…Will and I BOTH can do WHATEVER we want because we TRUST each other to do so. This does NOT mean we have an open relationship… This means we have a GROWN one.’
Let’s leave them alone and move on; they’ve been married for 16 years and are unshakable!
