Excel 2007 has come up with several customized features and one of them is Tables. Working with tables has been much more appealing and customized for its users in the newer version. To give you a glimpse, let’s work with a set of values.
Enter a few values in an excel sheet as follows

Type Alt+n+t . This would result in the Insert tab and select the Tables option
You would get to see the following box, click Ok.
This would transform the appearance of the table as follows
If you notice, Excel 2007 creates a filter in the column based on the values in the column. You would also see another tab in the ribbon-Design (which appears in the case of Tables).
In the Design ribbon, some of the key features which are used commonly are:
Properties
- Table Name
Table Style Options
- By selecting Banded Rows, you would get an alternating color pattern in the rows
- By checking the Total Row box, you would get the total of the row values at the end
- Selecting the First Column or Last Column highlights the formatting in that column
