Canva – Design your content
A ready-made library of templates for creating graphic content.

Well, I’ve seen people asking this question a lot of times: “How do you make money using Canva?” As I’ve used this tool for almost 4 years now, I think I am in the right position to answer this! So, without wasting much time, let’s get started.
On this page
Start with What You Know
If you want to make money using Canva, the first thing you need to know is your expertise. You don’t have to go out and learn a new skill. You can get started with whatever you already know.
For example, have you ever thought that people working in corporations or SMB owners or students regularly need stuff like ebooks, planners, worksheets, calendars, and more?
And you can create all of them on Canva and sell them to the people who are looking for them! But for this, you’ll have to know your skills and limits. You cannot start creating everything right away. Just choose one or two product types and give your best to it. Create simpler products as simpler products sell better.
Now, let’s not waste too much time and get started with the ways you can make money using Canva. I have compiled this list based on my experience and a couple of Canva users I know who are making a lot of money using Canva. But remember, the final choice will be yours and yours only.
How to Make Money Using Canva in 20 Different Ways?
1. Sell Printables on Etsy
This is the fastest and easiest way to make money using Canva. Printables are the digital files your potential customers can download and print from anywhere. These printable files could be anything like planners, budget sheets, journals, coloring pages, or any kind of functional design. It’s super easy to create printables on Canva.
Canva comes with a drag-and-drop feature that allows you to just drop your elements on the blank canvas, add colors, and make it functional! Log in to your Canva account, go to the “Printable” button and click on it.
Now, if you look closely, you will see two options for designing the printables. Either you can pick the ready-to-use templates for your printables, or you can design them from scratch. You can create a variety of printables like Posters, Business cards, Postcards, Newsletters, and more.
Live Example:
Our company has designed Minimalist Productivity Pomodoro Planner and made available through the Amazon marketplace.
Let’s say you want to create a poster from scratch. Then, you select the blank poster, set your own color combination, add your elements, and design it based on your ideas. You can even upload elements and images of your own.
Once you are done designing your printable, make sure you go to the “Share” option and download the PDF file. Once done, you can upload it to your Etsy store. There are hundreds of people flocking to Etsy to buy creative and useful printables.
The best part? You don’t have to manage inventory, shipping, or customer returns. People will see your design, pay you, and download it. The process is quite simple, and that’s why it is at the top of my list!
Note: Do not download and sell the Canva templates directly. It’s against their policy. So make sure you modify them before selling them.
2. Create Wall Art
Who doesn’t love decorative wall art? Wall art is one of the highest-selling products in the market. Whatever you create, there will be a customer base willing to buy it (given that you have something creative to offer, obviously!) Now, Canva lets your creativity flow freely.
You can create HD wall art and poster designs that your customers can print and frame. The process is simple. Start with a blank canvas, choose a background texture or color, and add custom typography or minimalist illustrations.
Let’s say you want to create an art piece that would intrigue people with some insightful thoughts. You can pick a design that looks classy with a tinge of history. Add your favorite quote or come up with something interesting and copy-paste it into the design.
As you can see in the above example, you can change your fonts and match the color of your font with that of the design, and you are good to go! Once your design is ready, make sure you export it as an HD JPG file or PDF file.
Then, list it on platforms like Redbubble or Etsy, and you will be good to go. But if you have a local store or know someone who has a local store that sells such stuff, you can print it, frame it, and sell it yourself!
Remember, people love buying unique and intriguing décor. If your design speaks to them, they will pay for it.
3. Sell Canva Templates
Not everyone has time to design from scratch, so they search for one-for-them solutions. There are a lot of creators, influencers, and small business owners who need templates. Canva templates solve this problem.
If you are into designing and creativity, you can create social media templates, ebook layouts, pitch decks, or Pinterest pin designs. These templates sell like hotcakes on Canva (but only if they look stunning!)
But you will have to do some heavy lifting if you want to create such templates for Canva. You cannot use Canva’s ready-to-use templates. Open a new design and start creating from scratch.
Once your design is ready, lock the elements you don’t want your buyers to change. This will give you better control over your design and reduce the risk of copying. Once done, share it as the template link.
You can sell these templates on Etsy, Creative Market, or even on your own website. All you have to do is paste your Canva template link, and people can click on it to use it.
4. Make eBooks
If you’ve got detailed insights and knowledge in a specific field, you can make money using Canva via ebooks. You can create and share ebooks on any topic, such as fitness, finance, cooking, marketing, fashion, and more.
All you have to do is write some amazing content and design ebooks using Canva. For this, search “ebook” on Canva’s search bar. You will find a lot of ebook covers.
Let’s say you want to create an ebook on cooking. There are a lot of relevant templates available. You pick one and get started.
As you can see in the image above, you can customize the entire template as per your needs. You get a very attractive cover page, internal pages, and the last page. Just add your content and change the relevant elements, and you are good to go!
I’ve seen hundreds of niche influencers offering ebooks created with the help of Canva on their platforms. You have two options to make money using Canva via ebooks.
You can either sell your ebooks directly on platforms like Payhip and Gumroad or publish them on your website to build authority. Both ways, you can start making money when people download your ebooks.
5. Launch a Print-on-Demand Store
People love products that are customized to their own needs. That’s the reason why customnzied products like t-shirts, mugs, tote bags and stickers are always in demand. You, too, can make money using Canva with a Print-on-demand store.
All you have to do is design using Canva, upload your design to Printify or Redbubble, and you are all set! These platforms take care of printing for you. The reason why I am suggesting Canva for this job is that it offers an option to export designs with transparent backgrounds.
And that’s exactly what you need for printing, right? Here’s something I did for a custom-designed t-shirt.
I went to the search bar, entered the term “t-shirt,” and picked this design from the options. Then, I edited the quote and downloaded the HD PDF. Now, all I have to do is go to any of the above-mentioned platforms and start selling.
All you need is a niche idea, such as funny quotes for dog lovers or abstract shapes for minimalists. Focus on one audience and create designs that speak to them.
Once you upload your design to the print-on-demand platform, set your profit margins and share your store link. Each sale brings you royalties while the platform does the rest.
6. Create Worksheets
Worksheets are popular for students, professionals, coaches, and content creators. Worksheets are extremely popular amongst them as they help streamline their routines.
You can make money using Canva through such worksheets. People are always looking for different types of worksheets like activity sheets, goal trackers, journal prompts, and more.
With Canva, this is very easy. Go to the search bar, type ‘worksheet’ into the Canva search bar, and it will present you with multiple templates. You can choose any layout that gives your users the necessary space to write or draw.
As you can see, the options are practically infinite. You will find worksheets for people of all age groups and niches. You can pick one based on your target audience.
Make sure your designs are minimal and light in color. Include prompts that guide reflection or help users stay organized. Lock the static elements to protect the layout. Then, share a template link or download the file as a PDF. You can sell these as stand-alone printables or bundle them with planners and journals.
Live Example:
We have designed Ultimate Kids’ Daily Activity Tracker using Canva and listed for sale on the Amazon marketplace.
7. Design Social Media Content for Clients
This is, by far, the most in-demand product that you can create on Canva! Today, almost every business wants to have a solid social media presence. They want attractive social media graphics and images that can help them stand out from their peers.
That’s where you come in. You can craft high-value social media graphics and make money using Canva. Canva offers a wide range of post templates for almost every popular social media platform.
Whether you want to make Instagram reels, Facebook posts, WhatsApp statuses, Facebook covers, Instagram stories, Facebook ads, or anything else, you will find tons of templates on Canva.
Go to the “Social Media” option on the home page, and you will find hundreds of templates for almost every type of social media post. If you are feeling more creative, you can start creating your own design from scratch, too.
You can create a set of posts for clients, offer packages of 10, 15 or 30 posts a month, and make money using Canva. You will find a lot of businesses willing to pay for consistency and amazing visual appeal.
In the beginning, reach out to smaller brands and organizations. Once you get a hold of this, start pitching to medium-sized firms. You can also work as a freelance designer for those digital marketing agencies.
Example: Most of our featured images and Pinterest pins are created using Canva Pro.
8. Create and Sell Calendars
Calendars are useful all year round. If you create and sell calendars, you’ll definitely find a lot of buyers. Some people use them for work, others for home organization. You can make money using Canva if you design and sell such calendars.
There are so many varieties and templates available that you won’t run out of options. All you have to do is search for “Calendars” in the search bar and pick the one that fits your needs.
You can personalize these calendars with the help of images, quotes, or illustrations. You can do all this within Canva itself. Stick to soft colors and clear fonts so users can print them without wasting ink. Once you complete your design, export it as a printable PDF.
You can sell digital calendars on Etsy, your blog, or Gumroad. Since there’s no physical shipping, your customers get instant delivery, make money using Canva and you scale without limits.
9. Make Marketing Videos
Video is everywhere now. Multiple studies show that videos are way better at grabbing people’s attention as compared to static images and graphics. So you can make money using Canva if you create amazing videos for your customers.
Canva’s built-in video editor lets you create animated ads, reels, and stories. The best part? You won’t need any software or tools to do so. You can do it with Canva and make a good income. There are so many templates available that you won’t have to start from scratch.
Just choose a video template, drag in images, add text animations, and export. Start by making a few examples and put them into a demo reel. Then, offer your services to small businesses. Many local businesses don’t have video editors.
If you pitch them with a ready-made sample, there’s a high chance they’ll hire you. Charge per video or offer a package deal.
10. Offer Ad Design Services
Facebook and Instagram ads rely on visuals that catch attention. You can create scroll-stopping graphics using Canva. Choose bold fonts, bright colors, and clear messaging. Test different layouts and offers.
Once your designs are ready, offer them to e-commerce brands, coaches, or digital product sellers. Post your gig on Fiverr or Upwork.
Message business owners directly and show them how your designs can boost engagement. As you get better results for your clients, you can increase your rates and make money using Canva.
11. Make money using the Canva Affiliate Program
If you already talk about design tools, side hustles, or digital marketing, the Canvas affiliate program can be a great source of income. You join their Canvassador program and share your unique affiliate link.
When someone signs up for Canva Pro using your link, you earn a commission. You can place your link in blog posts, YouTube video descriptions, Instagram bios, or email newsletters. It’s a simple way to monetize your content without creating new products.
12. Teach Canva
This is something entirely different. If you’re confident using Canva, you can teach it and make money using Canva. Many people want to learn how to create graphics, ebooks, or social media posts. You can record simple tutorials and publish them on Skillshare or Udemy.
Skillshare – Online Learning
Explore thousands of hands-on, creative classes with one inspiring membership. Skillshare Coupon Code: WITTYSPARKSFREE to take these courses for FREE or AFF50 for 50% off on an annual subscription. annual30aff – To get 30% Off on Annual Membership.
Canva makes screen sharing easy, and you can talk through your process while showing each step. Choose a specific topic and title your class around a result.
For example, “How to Design Instagram Templates in Canva” works better than “Canva Basics.” Publish your course and earn money every time someone watches or buys it.
13. Start a Canva YouTube Channel
If you enjoy talking and teaching, YouTube is your platform. Record tutorials, reviews, or design tips using Canva. Each video builds your brand and authority. Add affiliate links to your descriptions and suggest your services or products.
Once you reach 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of watch time, you can start earning through YouTube ads. Some creators also get sponsors and brand deals.
14. Design Logos
SMBs and organizations dig amazing logos and are willing to pay big. If you have a knack for creativity and can come up with innovative designs, you can make money using Canva easily.
Canva has thousands of shapes, fonts, and icons you can use to create logos. You can get in touch with small businesses that have just launched their business. Convince them with your creativity and design them a logo that they can’t say no to! You can even use hundreds of logo templates that are available with Canva.
Create some concepts on Canva’s blank canvas, and customize the color palette. Deliver the logos in PNG and SVG formats. When you have a good number of logo jobs done, you can add them to your profile, upload your gig to Fiverr or Upwork, and start getting customers from across the globe.
Over time, your experience and ratings will attract more clients, and it will become easy to make money using Canva.
15. Join the Canva Creator Program
This is Canva’s official way to reward contributors. You design templates, illustrations, or educational resources and upload them to Canva. Every time someone uses your content, you get a share of the revenue.
Apply through Canva Creators site and follow their content guidelines. This method brings recurring income because your designs stay on the platform and generate use continuously.
16. Make YouTube Thumbnails
Thumbnails drive clicks. Every YouTuber needs a standout thumbnail. Canva offers YouTube thumbnail templates that are easy to customize. Use large fonts, bold colors, and close-up photos. Offer this service to creators.
You can charge per design or offer a monthly package. Keep designs organized in folders for each client. You get better, faster, and more profitable with every design.
17. Build Websites
Canva now lets you create one-page websites. These are ideal for portfolios, landing pages, or event announcements. Design everything within Canva, then publish it using a Canva link or connect it to a domain.
There are tons of designs to pick from. You can filter your choices based on categories like food, blog, portfolios, business, education, and more. For example, the website visible in the image below can be optimized for an interior designer’s website. It already comes with 5 pages, and you can add more as and when you want.
While obviously, these websites will not be high-end and fully dynamic websites, they can surely help thousands of small businesses come online. You can offer this to small business owners who need a quick and attractive online presence. No code required.
18. Design for Nonprofits and Schools
These organizations often have limited budgets and no in-house designer. Offer affordable services to create posters, brochures, or certificates using Canva. Not only do you earn, but you also build a portfolio. Plus, helping causes you to believe in feeling good while growing your side hustle.
19. Offer Canva Coaching
Some business owners want to do their own designs but don’t know where to start. Offer one-on-one coaching sessions over Zoom. Show them how to use brand kits, design templates, or schedule social media posts and make money using Canva.
Record the session and share the replay. Charge by the hour and create bundles for ongoing support.
20. Create Email Marketing Graphics
Email marketers need visual content to make their emails stand out. Canva helps you design banners, headers, and CTAs. Work with marketers or brands to create assets for their campaigns. Offer design bundles for each email sequence. Once you have a few clients, they’ll keep coming back for more content.
How to Price Your Canva Services?
Now that you know how to make money using Canva, the big question comes up: How do you price your Canva services or products? Well, this one needs a little digging into the market. Check out the various platforms mentioned above to identify the product prices.
As you are starting, try to keep prices as competitive as possible. But do not overdo it, or people will ditch your products, thinking it’s cheap and not worth it. So, find a perfect balance before fixing the price.
You can also come up with seasonal offers like Christmas offers and Black Friday offers to attract more customers. Once you have enough market presence and sales, you can raise your price a bit, too.
Just a fraction of a rise in your price will get you a lot more profit, but you will have to have patience for that. The goal is to start, earn, and grow.
Why Canva?
Look, the best, most important reason I chose Canva to make money is its simplicity and user-friendly interface. The second biggest factor is that it offers a free version. While you will need a pro version to download print-quality products, you can surely use free templates to start small.
Once you start getting traction, you can always upgrade to their “Plus” plan. Moreover, Canva brings in a lot of variety and options when it comes to templates.
But the best part? You can create a wide range of graphics using Canva. Have you ever seen such a versatile design tool? It, in fact, lets you make a website from its platform!
So overall, Canva is a great tool to make money online. Pick a method that excites you. Make a few designs. Post them online. Share your links. Ask for feedback. Get reviews. Then repeat. The faster you publish, the sooner you start earning.
Don’t wait for perfect. Done is better. Canva gives you the tools. You bring the hustle. That’s how you make money using Canva.
